25. Food Tech

WALT : Do some work

Talofa Kotou Katoa,

This week for tech we changed into different rooms and now my group is in Food Tech. We were previously in DVC which is like art but it stands for Design Visualise Communications. Our tech teacher’s name is  Whea Leigh ( Pronounced like lee ) she is our food tech teacher for the term. Firstly she introduced herself and then she told us that before we cooked ( which was in two weeks ) we needed to know the basics of cooking. Basically she said that for the past two weeks that we will be attending tech we were going to be doing paper work. And then after she had submitted the role she handed out some paper work and she explained why we needed to do the work. It’s because we needed to know what the utensils and other available things that we were going to need.

One of the many paper work she assigned us to was we had four pieces of paper. Three of them had different pictures of utensils or oven tops or ovens etc. Then on one of the papers that she gave us it had a checklist and it had all of these name of utensils and we had to write the name of the utensil then we had to put the correct name under the one we think its called. Then after we put a name down we would tick off the box and that means we already did that. And that was all we did for Tech.

Thank you for reading my blog I hope you have a good rest of your day / week and remember to spread the gospel 🔥.

Room 9 Baking – Weet – Bix Slices 25.

Hola Everyone,

WALT : Bake what we learnt in Food Tech.

Today we baked some Weet – Bix slices. Our teacher told us that we were going to be baking Weet – Bix slices. But before going into the baking part we needed to go over the rules for baking. Firstly we needed to make sure that our behaviours are good and that our attitudes are on so because our teacher said that if we did something naughty she would put a finger down then if all five fingers were all down then that means we would stop what we were doing and clean up. These are the ingredients that we needed.

  •  4 pieces of Weet – Bix Crushed
  • 1 Cup Flour
  • 1/2 of White Sugar
  • 1 Tsp Baking Powder
  • 1 Tablespoon Coca Powder
  • 150 Grams Butter
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Vanilla Essence
  • 180 Degrees
  • Bake 10 minute

To make this we needed to make sure that the Weet – Bix were crushed but into a plastic bag or in a bowl. Then we had to add the dry ingredients into the plastic bag or bowl. Then after that we need to melt the butter for 1 minute or longer until the butter is all melted. Then we had to create a circle which our teacher it a well because it was a bit like a well inside. After the butter melted we needed to add the butter in the well but if it was too hot then we needed to wait for it to cool down. Then after we had poured the butter we needed to add the wet ingredients into the bowl or plastic bag. Then crush or scrunch it up until all the ingredients are all dissolved or crushed up. Then we would put butter or baking paper onto the baking pan then but it in the oven at 180 degrees for 10 minutes. Then you have yourself a yumm delicious Weet – Bix slice. When we took the slices out of the oven some of them were burnt because we put the heat too high and we put it in their for to long. The next time we do this we will learn from our mistakes.

Thank you for reading my blog I hope you have a good rest of your day / week and remember to spread the gospel.
