25. Reading Response – Squished

Malo Ni Everyone,

This week we had to create a DLO about a book. The book that I chose to describe was Squished and the cover book looks like this ⬇

This book won’t be as long as my other blogs that I have done because all of my writing and description about this book is in my document that will be linked down there.

This is a book about a girl and her family. The girl in the middle with the yellow shirt is the main character and she talks about her life in the beginning her name is Avery Lee. She has  6 siblings but 9 people in her family ( Including herself ). I will add my DLO down here for you to take a look.

25. Te Aro Pa – Reading

Kia Orana Everyone,

Happy Cook Island Language Week 🇨🇰 !!

This week for reading we have been given the task to learn about a place called Te Papa located in Wellington. We needed to read a book about how Maori life was way back in history in the 1800’s into the 1900’s. After reading about this book and how the Maori life was back in the days we got allocated to create and design a DLO. In our team we all discussed that we should create one DLO so it makes us stress free and we can all rely on each other to do some work and participate. Here is some understanding about the book.

Te Aro Pā was a Māori village long ago in Wellington. It was near the water and used for fishing, trading, and meeting other people. The Māori who lived there were part of local tribes.

Today, even though the city has changed, we still remember Te Aro Pā because it teaches us about Māori history and culture. Archaeologists have found old tools that show how people lived there.

Learning about places like Te Aro Pā helps us understand how important the land and sea were to Māori people. It also reminds us to respect and protect these special places for the future.

We also made a DLO so here it is.

Thank you for reading my blog and remember to comment if you have any suggestions or recommendations and remember to spread the gospel.

25. Weekly Recap

Bula Vinaka Everyone,

This week we have been learning about prime numbers and composite numbers. For me to learn about this is a bit easy because I can identify the difference between these two words and their numbers and other things associated with it. You may be thinking that we don’t know how to do these. Well we finished a test and it shows that I know my prime and composite numbers better than I thought. And that is what we are working on for maths.

For writing we made 4 different DLO’s about a place and some important people. It was cool to learn about them and how they are famous and what they did because it was amazing learning about others and their strengths. If you want to learn more about that then go to my other blog post and take a look at my DLO’s that I created. Because there is a whole blog post dedicated to all of my biographies. So go on and check that out after.

And for reading we read about the Maori Battalion. The Maori Battalion is important and should not be forgotten because it is important to our land and how we treat it and how we can help it. And that was all we did last week.

Thank you for reading my blog I hope you have a good rest of your day and remember to spread the gospel 🔥.

25. Weekly Learning Recap

WALT: Complete all our work and blog it on one blog.

Ni Hao Everyone,

This week for reading we have been learning about the Maori Battalion. Firstly we needed to make sure that we read the article so that we know what information we needed to add to our DLO ( Digital Learning Object ). Some facts that I learnt are that the Maori Battalion started in 1940 – 1945. I also have some more facts and I will add my DLO below this.

Maori Battalion

For math we have been learning about fractions, decimals and percentages. Firstly we needed to know what this is and how we can use this in our math. We were assigned to do our math from the math books. They have different units and topics.  We need to work on three pages which are around percentages decimals and fractions. We looked more into fractions. We learn this stuff because we have tests and our math is based on the questions on the test. And that was all that we did for math.

For writing we worked on our ice story. We needed to use our five senses to  explain how the ice felt in our hands. We needed to do descriptive writing about the ice. I will add a link down here for you to read about my story and how I felt about the ice.

Reading Response Plastic Free – Enviroment .24

Kia Ora Everyone,

This week for reading we have been looking at making the world a better place. So firstly like the rest of the reading responses we had to make a copy. Then we had to do the activities that were on the slides. On some of the slides were something that related to rubbish. So there were these bunch of kids from a school, and they started to collect rubbish so they could help the Environment and the rubbish won’t go everywhere and pollute the earth. They also learned about this one guy that started an inflatable thing to capture the rubbish from going deeper into the ocean. I will put down my work that I worked on. I liked doing this because it was not a challenge but I learned something that could help the earth.

Thank you for reading my blog I hope you have a  good rest of your day and remember to spread the gospel.

Fallen Leaves Group Reading .24

Howdy Everyone,

This week for reading we got to chose the book that we are going to read for Week 8. So as a group we all picked the book that is on the highest level we have on these slides so we picked Fallen Leaves. So firstly we had to do our Wonders, Terms new to me, I noticed and Terms new to me as a group. So then after we did that we had to get into groups of two but some people had to get into groups of three because there were not a lot of people left so some of them had to go into groups of three.

The book is about this boy whose name is Haroa. I have not read the story but pretend I have. So the main character is Haroa he is a  boy in one of the photos he looks very sad and I think something very wrong went bad or he is just sad because his painting will not be painted. We had to do a lot of activities because it was a part of the things we had to do. And that was the reading we did and the person that I picked as my buddy to do the slides with was Trinity. But before that I was going to choose Puavasa but then our teacher told us to go with somebody that we have not gone with and I have gone with Puavasa. So then  asked Trinity to pair up with me and she had agreed to pair up with me. If you would like to see my work it will be down here for you to see.

Thank you for reading my blog I hope you have a good rest  of your day and remember to spread the gospel.

Hushed Group Reading T3 .24

Talofa Everyone

This week for group reading we have picked the book called hushed. It was about a classroom that was filled with kids that had no parents. And no it was not an orphanage. The walls were very white and the kids looked a bit pale because some of them have been there for a long time. The headmistress was a lady she was very nice and mean at the same time because she was using a kid that was so tired of being there he was just not doing anything he was like glued to the chair. They were using white bricks to  build like a sturdy wall like how you make a wall with some white dominoes. My work will be down here for you to see.

So down here I will  add a photo that we tried to re-create a photo from the story Hushed I will explain more when I add the two pictures down here for you to see.

The photo that is at the top is the photo that we tried to re-create. As you can see the person in the yellow coat is Susana and the person with the ginger hair is Hineahuone and then the person that is in front of Susana is Puavasa she is with the long black hair sitting down.

Thank you for reading my blog I hope you have a good rest of your day remember to spread the gospel.

Reading Response Week 7 T3 .24

Annyeonghaseyo  Everyone,

So for reading this week we have done a group reading. This means that we have read a book as a group and then we do a reading response based on that book. The book’s name was Marcus and Thomas which is a book in New Zealand that was based in New Zealand I think. So when we read the book it was about this man or boy he had a destiny for climbing and staying in caves. He was meant to be because in the story he really enjoyed it.

So for this activity we had to buddy up with someone in our reading group. So the person that I chose was Puavasa because I just was like wanna be my  buddy and then she agreed.  So we have worked on our slides as a group and then our teacher told everyone in our reading group to make a copy of the slides for you and your buddy and then work on the slides that we needed to buddy up with.

My reading response will be down here for you to see.

Thank you for reading my blog I hope you have a good rest of your day and remember to spread the gospel.

Goals T3 .24

Konnichiwa Everyone,

For this week and last week we had to do something that reflects for this term and our work that we did. So firstly our teacher had to do something on some slides she told us to make a copy and we were making a copy of our goals for the term. We did this for our writing and then when we made a copy we had to do it because we had to reflect on what we did and how we can improve it. So the main subjects that my teacher wanted to cover for the goals were Writing, Reading and then the last one which is my favourite subject is Math. Why is Math my favourite subject you may ask? It is my favourite because it helps you to learn something and it gives you a challenge that you have to solve Mathematically. If you would like to see my work it will be down here for you to see. I want to be on stage 8 because I always want to try and challenge myself with something more challenging because it will help me to try and achieve it.

Thank you for reading my blog I hope you have a good rest of your day and remember to spread the gospel.
